Come enjoy our small festival of art in the Christian tradition, 23-26 July 2021. Guests of all ages and backgrounds are warmly welcome. You will find us in the Huon Hub in Huonville. This year's theme: "The Lord's Prayer"

Daily, 10am - 4pm

  • Exhibition of visual art, FREE entry.
  • Collaborative live art demos, including photography, textiles, painting, writing, drawing, music, and more.

 

Friday, 23 July

  • 11:30am - Intro to Improv Acting, free all-ages workshop with Peirce Baehr, who trained at the Young Actors Space in Los Angeles. We'll run through the basic rules of improv and teach a selection of improv exercises you can take with you anywhere. Message us to book now as spaces are limited.

  • 2pm - Finding Meaning in Stories: Theme for Writers and Readers - historical fantasy author Suzannah Rowntree will give us tools for finding new depths in stories, whether we are creating them or simply enjoying them.

    Venue: The Local, Wilmot St, Huonville. Walk-ins are welcome, but book to avoid disappointment if we exceed occupancy.


  • 3pm - Finish the book! 10 ways to get your book finished - indie-publishing queen W.R. Gingell will help you do what you've always wanted to do: finish your book! Encouragement guaranteed, all ages welcome.

  • 10:30am - Sketching for Kids - free workshop with Naomi Kewley, winner of 2019's Huon Art Award. Learn how to sketch a subject by breaking it down into its parts, and learn the basics of shading. Intended for young people 6 to 16. Message us to book now as spaces are limited. This class is now full.

  • 1:00pm - Oil Painting for Kids: brunaille alla prima, bistre method - free workshop with award-winning oil portraitist Margaret Sonnemann. Create a monochrome oil painting: the wipe-out or bistre method is one of the easiest ways to get it right, even if you've never touched a paintbrush. It's tactile, straightforward and simple. And the results are almost always beautiful.

    Intended for young people 8 to 16. Message us to book now as spaces are limited. This class is now full.

  • 1 pm - Creative Bible Journaling for Kids, free workshop with Dr Amy Imms, visual artist and mental health expert of The Burnout Project. Creative Bible journaling is both an art form and a way to mediate on the words of scripture. Suitable for any level of artistic experience and ability, ages 12 and under. Message us to book now as spaces are limited.

    • 2:30pm - Stories from the Lord's Prayer, Free. Come listen and vote for this year's winning literary entries in fiction, non-fiction, and poetry. Three short but powerful pieces from each category and age group have been selected by our curators. Now it's your turn to decide which ones win the top prize.     • 3:30pm - People's Choice Awards, free. Join us as we announce the Mandala Asset Solutions People's Choice Award winners in adult and youth visual art; The Wandering Bookseller Prizes for adults in fiction, non-fiction, and poetry; and the W.R. Gingell Prizes for youth fiction, non-fiction, and poetry. Afternoon tea included.
